Maricela Magana's Obituary
It is with great sadness to announce that Maricela Magana passed away at the early age of 53 on September 4, 2022 at San Leandro Kaiser Permanente.
Born in Mexico City on January 16, 1969, Maricela is survived by her parents, Ma. Leonila Guerra and Moises Magana Melchor. She was the oldest of eight children: Olga, Patricia, Moises, Faustino, Vicente, Edith and Santiago. Coming from a large size family, she too wanted to grow a big family of her own and had Pamela, Pablo, Chantal, Jose, Kriss, Luis, Maya and added Eddy as part of her own. As one can imagine, there were many birthdays and she did not miss a single one, to Maricela, family was everything. Alongside the company of her husband, Juan Luis, her children and grandchildren, she lived a life fulfilled with love and joy, we can all agree that she didn’t spend any time alone. Many can remember her cheerful persona at gatherings, always laughing and dancing. Aside family and dancing, her other passions included gardening, birds, parakeets to be specific, and practicing religion.
Through the course of her life, Maricela displayed a positive and cheerful attitude and eventually decided to make a living in helping others by starting her own business. She owned a candle shop (Botanica) in Oakland CA for approximately 15 years. Maricela worked hard to show her children that anything is possible if you are willing to roll up your sleeves and get to work. Her dependable, motivational and ambitious personality will always be remembered.
Maricela’s viewing will be held at the Chapel of the Chimes in Oakland on Thursday, September 22, 2022 from 5pm -8pm. The following day, Friday, September 23, 2022 she will have her service at the Chapel of the Chimes from 10am-12pm followed by her interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hayward.
If you would like to send flower arrangements, please send to the Chapel of the Chimes by September 22nd at 4499 Piedmont Ave, Oakland CA 94611.
