Lucille M. EdlundResident of San Leandro, CALucille Edlund (95) passed away on September 7, 2012 in Concord, CA.She was actively involved in Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, & school activities with her children; the family home was a magnet for the neighborhood kids because of all the fun activities she encouraged.She worked for a period of time at Oven Fresh Bakery and at Mr. Smith's Variety Store in Washington Manor.The family spent many summers camping in Yosemite Valley.She was known for her tasty cakes and pies and in general was a wonderful cook. Gifted with a strong memory, she served as the family historian.Born in Oakland to Walter & Francis Orr. Preceded in death by her husband Theodore Rollin Edlund, her parents, sisters Luella Krum, Lorene Johnson, Alma & James Holt and brothers, Mansel, Bill, Greg & Bob Orr. Survived by her son Rollin Edlund (Brentwood, CA) and daughter Judith Edlund (Concord, CA), grand children: Doris (Antioch, CA), Glen (Oakley, CA) & Terence (Galt, CA), great grand children: Cami & Hayley (Galt, CA) and Jake & Taylor (Oakley, CA).Lucille was very active in San Lorenzo Community Church, singing in the church choir for many years, participating in several stage plays and helping to run the church's rummage room.She held several appointed positions in Eastern Star and was a member of both San Lorenzo Chapter 177 OES and Oakland's Nova Dias Chapter 140 OES. She always volunteered to help, bringing cakes, potluck and picking up people who needed a ride. She was the recipient of the Rob Morris Award from the San Lorenzo Chapter OESMemorial services and a celebration of her life will be held at San Lorenzo Community Church,United Church of Christ, 945 Paseo Grande, San Lorenzo, CA 94580 – Phone #: 510-276-4808Sunday, October 28, 2012 at 3:00 PM – Fellowship and refreshments following. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Cancer Society or Shriner’s Children's Hospital.Interment is at the Chapel of the Chimes on Piedmont Ave., Oakland, CA
