Lolita Gilvison Macalino's Obituary
On July 14, 2022, Lolita Gilvison Macalino fully transitioned from this life and passed away at the age of 75 in Pinole, CA. Born on January 13, 1947 from the town of Masantol. A province in Pampanga, Philippine Islands. Lolita overcame adversity and achieved her dream of coming to the United States and raising a beautiful family. She wedded Servillano Billy Macalino on June 30, 1968 and together they were happily married for 54 years, living most of those years in the SOMA community of San Francisco, CA. In the Philippines, Lolita studied cosmetology as a young woman, but soon after arriving in the United States in 1972 she began a career in hotel hospitality at Holiday Inn Hotels in San Francisco’s Chinatown where she took pride in her work and dutifully served for over 32 years. Lolita had a passion for cooking, singing and dancing, and loved to travel and attend live music shows and concerts. Above all else, she treasured being a mother and caring for her daughters Glady, Gigi, Glenda, Girlie, and Grace and her son Jeremias. In addition to her children, Lolita is survived by her 15 grandchildren Chelsea, Cheyenne, Charlize, Khylareen, Khianna, Joshua, Jacob, Kaliyah, Xander, Tarin, Talise, Taedyn, Kelli, Kyndall and Kyrie, and her 8 great grandchildren Kathleen, Kenneth, Kevin, Kiesha, Mayliah, Kam, Karter and Kiyahn. The 4th of 7 children, Lolita is also survived by her siblings Oscar and Corazon, and joins her other siblings in heaven, Eufracio, Restituto, Emelia and Juanito.
The Macalino Family will host viewings from 4:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 and Thursday, August 11, 2022 at Chapel of the Chimes (4459 Piedmont Ave, Oakland, CA, 94611). The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 12, 2022 at St. Patrick’s Church (756 Mission St, San Francisco, CA, 94103).
Her remains will be laid to rest in her home town.
