Lois Braddock's Obituary
Lois Braddock passed away peacefully at her home, in San Laeandro, at the age of 99 years old (and 7 months), while surrounded by her loving family and caregivers.
She was born on Oct. 24, 1915 to parents Sturgeon and Pearl Johnson in Portland, OR, where she spent her early life. Lois met her beloved husband, Robert Brddock, in 1937, at the University of Oregon, and they married 4 years later in 1941. After Mr. Braddock’s discharge from the Navy at the end of WWII, they relocated from Portland, OR to Oakland, CA to build their life, where they raised two children, and built a successful business and vibrant social life together. They shared a joyful 54 yrs together, until Mr. Braddock’s death in 1995.
‘ Johnsey”, as she was affectionately called by her family and friends, always had a joy for life. With her quick wit and infectious sense of humor, she was a delightful host and loved to entertain. She had a passion for music and was a very talented piano player. Peopled loved to gather around her piano for music and singing, as much as they loved gathering around her table to enjoy her gourmet cooking skills. She was an active participant in her community, and worked to make a better life for all.
Lois is survived by her daughter, Cherie Keemar, of Daytona Beach, FL, her son Robert Braddock of Oakland, CA, and ther loved ones.
The family is forever grateful to Ana Moa and her family members, for the many years of loving care, comfort and compassion, they gave to our Mother.
She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
A private family service, by her request, will be held to commemorate her life.
