Linda Gayle DeAsanti's Obituary
Linda Gayle DeAsanti
God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. (Rev. 21:4)
Linda Gayle DeAsanti was born on November 4, 1943 in Idabel, Oklahoma to her proud parents: the late Isaiah Nelson and Versie Mae Ford. Linda (or as she is more affectionately called Gayle) was the first born of four children. Gayle accepted Christ into her life at an early age and was baptized at Evergreen Baptist Church in Oakland, California and later transferred her membership to Allen Temple Baptist Church in Oakland, California, where she faithfully served.
Gayle received her secondary education at Encinal High School in Alameda, California and continued her formal education at Alameda College receiving an Associates (AA) degree in Business Administration, which led her into a career working for the government at General Services Administration (GSA) until retirement.
Gayle met an enterprising, young man named Calvin Jackson and they married soon after. This union produced two children: Lynnae Suzette Jackson and Calvin Alexander Jackson.
Gayle loved having a good time. Gayle’s hobbies included jewelry making, sewing and she had a knack with computers. Those who knew Gayle, knew her true passion was traveling. She absolutely loved it. Her past travels included: Australia, Brazil, Cuba, Italy, The Caribbean, Venezuela, and she even ended up living in Negril, Jamaica and Panama City, Panama for a short stint.
Gayle was preceded in death by her grandmother, Patsy Hindman, father Isaiah Nelson, sister, Patricia Wilson, brother, Ronald Tramble and her cousin, Donald Bells. Cherishing and continuing her legacy are: her beloved mother Versie Tramble Lewis (Bea) of Alameda, CA, her two loving children, Lynnae Suzette Jackson of Thousand Oaks, CA, and Calvin Alexander Jackson (Sabrina Jackson) of San Leandro, CA; her three grandchildren given to her by God, Kvante’ Jackson, Tyireese Jackson, and Lexington Jackson; one brother, Carlos Antonio Tramble of Oakland, California; one aunt, Lue Retha Bells of Oakland, California and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and an extended legacy of family.
Gayle most certainly will be remembered as a warm and caring daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew and loved her and she will be deeply missed.
