TAKATALillian Shizuko Nishita TakataJanuary 15, 1916 - October 12, 2004Entered peacefully into rest at her home in Berkeley, Calif. on October 12, 2004. Born in Castroville, Calif. and longtime resident of Berkeley where she devoted her life to being a housewife, churchgoer, and dedicated senior volunteer. She is survived by her loving children, George Takata (Jo), Alvin Takata (Sally) and, Agnes Shintani, as well as her grandchildren, Erin Yamabe (Brian), David Takata, Kelly and Todd Shintani, and great granddaughter, Emiko Yamabe, sister Haruye Obata (Takashi), sister-in-law, Kazuko Nishita, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 43 years, George Masato Takata, as well as three brothers, Shuichi, Masao and Morio Nishita. Always kind-hearted, vibrant and gracious, she was greatly loved and will be missed by her family and friends.A memorial service will be held to celebrate her life on Tuesday, October 26, 2004, 11:00 a.m., at the Chapel of the Chimes, 4499 Piedmont Ave., Oakland, CA.
