LEONARD TANNY NASH's Obituary
Leonard T. Nash Was born on July 6, 1936, in Nowata, Oklahoma. He moved to Richmond, CA in 1941, and graduated from El Cerrito High School. After graduation, Leonard joined the Navy. He always had a passion for fast cars which led him to becoming the first African-American Car dealership owner in Marin County. Leonard was an active member of the Ford and Lincoln Mercury Black Dealers Association. He was owner of Novato Ford, Tracy Chevrolet and Hilltop Lincoln-Mercury before suffering a massive stroke in 1996. Leonard Nash is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Littie Nash and daughters, Alyce Nash, Clarice Nash and Erica Britton. He was also a magnificent grandfather and great-grandfather. He was also a mentor to various nieces, nephews and cousins. He was a lover of life and lived it to the fullest. Leonard lost his battle with esophageal cancer on August 13, 2012 after 28 years of being a pancreatic cancer survivor. The Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, August 22nd at 1:00 PM at the Chapel of the Chimes located at 4499 Piedmont Ave., Oakland, CA 94611. There will be a viewing before the services from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to the American Diabetes Association.
