Lee Wong's Obituary
El Cerrito- Lee Wong, 92, died Thursday, May 29, 2019 at the Bruns House in Alamo following a brief illness. Born in Corning, CA he resided for most of his years in Berkeley, CA. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. After serving his country, he attended UC Berkeley, where he received a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry. Mr. Wong was the first member of his family to receive a college degree. He worked for 35 years at Mare Island Naval Shipyard as a chemist. Mr. Wong had a passion for working on cars and over the years, enjoyed sharing his automobile knowledge with many friends and family. He was preceded in death by two brothers, John Wong and Peter Wong; two sisters, Anna Woo and Jessie Yee; one nephew; and one niece. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, three nephews; one niece; 10 grandnephews and grandnieces; one great-grandniece; as well as many extended family members. A private burial was held for Mr. Lee Wong on Saturday, June 15, 2019.
