I knew Lonnie as “Chip,” when I was a little kid growing up on Woodrow Drive — my friend’s, David’s, older brother. So sorry for your loss, Sue, Tammy, Dave and Mrs. Nelson. My condolences, too, to Chip’s wife and daughter. Also sorry to learn that your dad/”Mr. Nelson” had already passed away. I remember that Chip had the coolest butterfly/insect collection that I have ever seen. What you’re doing for Chip’s memorial is the same way that I would like to be memorialized after my own time comes to an end — in the forest along the (Manistee) River, near my favorite (hunting) spot (up in northern Michigan).
