Mac remains one of the kindest people I’ve met in my lifetime. I met him in Simba and he became like a Father to me and all of us younger folk who met him. I am saddened by his passing and to just find out is heartbreaking that I could not be there with his family who became my family. Thank you Mac and Bertha for being my extended family during my time in California. Thank you for the Gumbo, home-cooked meals, watching games together, listening, and teaching me how a man loves and respects his wife and family. You are one the last of the best of what’s good about black folk. Thank you for the love.
