Latesha Dashawn Sims' Obituary
Latesha Dashawn Sims, affectionally known as Boogie, was born on November 24, 1971, in San Francisco, California to the union of Linda and Frank Sims. She was their only child. Latesha attended private school in the San Francisco Unified School District and transferred to Oakland High School where she graduated in 1988. She never left San Francisco and maintained many friendships in the neighborhood where she grew up. Those friendships have lasted throughout her adult life. If you knew Latesha, you had a good story to tell.
Latesha worked different jobs, enjoying the variety of life and the thrill of learning new trades. Her most recent job was for Family Caregiver Services.
Latesha was a movie buff, with a passionate interest in cinema. "She was also a glamour girl who loved dressing up from head to toe."
Latesha is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Ethelene and Andrew Terry Sr., and paternal grandparents Ruth and Robert Sims.
She is survived by her mother, Linda (Herbert) Henley of Oakland, California, and father, Frank (Deborah) Sims of Patterson, California. Latesha was a loving mother to her children, Jamaica Henry and Daniel Henry, both of San Francisco, California, Roychelle Williams of Sacramento, California, and Isaiah Sims and Malekai Sims of San Leandro, California. Grandchildren Anaya Henry and Aliana Henry of San Francisco, California. And a host of aunts, uncles, and many cousins.
