Lai Quan Jue's Obituary
Quannie Jue was born and raised in Oakland and was the daughter of Moun Ock and Mar Shee Ng. She was the eldest of eleven children, often serving as a second mom to her 6 sisters and 4 brothers. During World War II she worked at the Alameda Naval Air Station and afterward she married Willie Jue. Raising four children, she was a Den Mother for Pack 217 in addition to working as a telephone operator and joint pole clerk for AT&T. In retirement, Quannie and Willie traveled to Europe and Asia and they enjoyed attending the Emeryville Senior Center and the Berkeley Chinese Community Church Senior Center. Quannie has joined her husband Willie, who passed away in 2016 and her son Robert, who passed away in 2012 and they are now at peace together. She is survived by her daughter Cherie Wong, sons Rodney Jue and Roger Jue; grandchildren Aaron, Christopher, Tienne, Joshua (Cherie, Mike); Jeremy, Sierra (Robert, Cynthia); Melody, Lori (Rodney, Terry); Justin, Natalie (Roger, Wendy); Jason (Roger); and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be on Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Chapel of the Chimes in Oakland.
