Kirstine Levin's Obituary
Kirstine Shea Levin, of Vacaville, passed away on June 20, 2018 following her courageous struggle with cancer. She passed surrounded by her loving family at her bedside.
Kirstine was born into a military family at Travis Air Force base on November 15, 1957. Growing up she lived in many places (Guam, Texas, Illinois, Virginia, Kansas, New Mexico) and eventually made it back to California, spending time in Placerville and then settling in Rancho Cordova where she graduated from Cordova High in 1976. Kirstine also graduated with an Associate Degree in Science, from American River College in Sacramento and she attended UC Davis for several semesters pursuing a Math degree.
Her passion for numbers and math, accounting and solving puzzles continued throughout her life.
Other life time passions included collecting, caring for and sharing plants, collecting small perfume bottles, dragons, and all things tigers. Kirstines’ passion created a warm, nurturing, beautiful home for Emily, Nina, David, close friends and our many animals.
Kirstine was married to David Levin for nearly 31 years and together they raised two wonderful children Emily and Nina, cared for stray and injured animals and family pets. Everyone who knew Kirstine appreciated her extraordinary sense of humor, and sarcasm which always brought a smile to our faces. She was purposeful and focused and she laughed every day. She had little sayings posted in special areas to remind us to humor ourselves and to remind us of the important things in life. Kirstine always tried to see the good in people. Kirstine was an honest, dependable and trusted friend to each of us lucky enough to have been accepted into her life. She was a loving and devoted mother, wife and best friend. Kirstine worked tirelessly to make our home a loving place and she shared her precious time helping our family and closest friends in many ways.
Kirstine was preceded in death by her grandparents, Gustav and Helen Heibroch, her much loved Aunt Eunice Heibroch and best friend Maxine Cooper, and by her loved and often remembered Dad, Bernard Shea.
Kirstine leaves behind her loving family, husband David, daughters Emily and Nina, mother Petrea, mother in-law Donna, brothers Kevin and Keith, sister in law Kathy, and her very close and loving niece Loren, and nephews Brian and Brett, her very best and long time friend Terry and brother and sister in-laws, nephews and nieces cousins, uncles and aunts, in Kansas City, Olathe Kansas, Chicago and Omaha Nebraska. We will all greatly miss her help, whit, humor and sarcasm, courage and wisdom.
