Kim Thi Chu's Obituary
With her radiant smile and kind heart, Kim Chu loved her family and all her friends. Kim was born on February 28, 1952 in Hanoi, Vietnam, to parents Ngo Van Chu (father) and Toan Thi Le (mother). She married Hao Thuan Thach at the age of 19, and immigrated to the US in 1980 with him and two young children. She was intelligent, sweet natured, and thoughtful. With wisdom and strength, she relentlessly instilled in her children to pursue education, encouraged them to dream, and to always be kind to others. She had many creative gifts and talents ranging from mathematics, knitting fashionable sweaters, sewing her inspirations, hair design, to Vietnamese cooking. She held a vocational degree from China in electrical engineering, pursued an A.S. at American River College in Sacramento, and was a licensed cosmetologist. Though if you asked her what her biggest accomplishments were, she would tell you she was most proud of her three surviving and thriving children: Alyssa Thach Terrizzano (married to Miguel), Hung Corey Thach (married to Kimberley), and Joan Thu Thach Lowery (married to Cody). You could always see her beaming with happiness when she was near her five precious grandchildren: Emma Terrizzano, Michael Terrizzano, Skylar Thach, Riley Thach, and Liam Lowery. Kim is eternally loved by her surviving husband, Hao, and everyone whose lives she has touched.
Kim, for the wonderful happiness, kindness, and love you bring to our hearts, we see you soaring high in heaven.
Visitation will open at 10:00 a.m. and the funeral service will begin promptly at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, September 18, 2014, at Chapel of the Chimes, 4499 Piedmont Avenue, Oakland, CA 94611. Interment to follow at Mt. View Cemetery in Oakland.
