My daughter Meg and I had the good fortune to make Kaaren and Sophia's acquaintance while sharing the volunteer experience in Dharamsala. Kaaren was an interesting, warm and caring person. Despite the challenges she and Sophia faced, she was determined to be positive and do her best to improve the lives of the children she worked with. She and Sophia clearly had a special bond filled with love, respect and a beautiful friendship.
