June E. Davis' Obituary
Passed away at home on Tuesday, December 31st at the age of 76, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. True to her strong spirit, June went quickly and exactly on her own terms.
June was born on June 22, 1937 in Fort Lauderdale, FL. She was the daughter of a Coastguard officer and moved many times as a young child. Her family finally settled in Concord, CA. She graduated from Mt. Diablo High School and went on to graduate from UC Berkeley, later earning a master’s degree in social work. She was a social worker and court officer for Alameda County for nearly four decades. June met her husband Bob when she was r8 years old. They met in college while both were attending Cal. June and Bob were married for 47 years.
June had a big life full of lots of love and lots of friends. She belonged to a book club and a golf group. She kept herself much busier than anyone would have imagined, despite her illness. June loved spending time with her “guys”, as she called them- her three grandsons who were the light of her life. They brought her immeasurable joy.
June is survived by her husband Bob, her daughter Jennifer Clayton, her Son-in-Law Jeff Clayton, her beloved grandsons Miles, Beckett and Wyatt Clayton, her brother Chris Waters of Rhode Island, and too many friends to fit into this space. We will all miss her dearly.
In lieu of flowers, her family asks that donations be made in June’s name to the Susan G. Kamen Foundation for breast cancer research. Constant advancements in breast cancer treatment give many people like June more time on this earth. We are forever grateful for the last four glorious years, truly borrowed time, time that we were able to
