Julia Ann Gorham's Obituary
Julia Ann Gorham March 6, 1963 – May 30, 2012 Loyal Friend, Faithful Mom, and Loving Sister are just a few of the words that describe Julia “Jula” Gorham who passed away suddenly on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at the age of 49. Jula was born and raised in Oakland where she attended St. Jarlath Elementary School and attended Notre Dame High School in Alameda. Jula worked side-by-side with her father Gerry at Bay Area Container, Inc. in the Port of Oakland. Jula dedicated her life to her children Barbara (23) and Amanda (13). Jula was one of the kindest people a person could ever meet. Jula would do anything for anybody at any time. She cared deeply for so many and never turned her back on a friend in need. Jula was a dedicated mother, a fighter, and faithful friend to all. Barbara (Fischer) and Amanda (Kelly) were unconditionally loved by their wonderful mother as was Jula’s faithful companion of 35 years Gary Fischer. Jula was the cherished middle daughter to Gerry and Julia Gorham and dedicated sister to Kevin and Jennifer. Jula was beloved by her nieces Hannah (Gorham), Lauren and Ashley (Andrews) and her nephew Sean (Gorham). Jula will be sorely missed by all, but the cherished memories of Jula will last a lifetime. A memorial service in Jula’s honor will be held on Thursday, June 7th, at 5pm at The Chapel of the Chimes, 4499 Piedmont Ave., Oakland.
