JOSEPHINE ROSE SILVESTRI SHEETS passed away in Berkeley, CA on February 13, 2003. She was the beloved wife of Melvin Ray Sheets of Oakland and the loving mother of Barbara Jo Scheidemantel of Glendale, WI, Sheryl Lynn Sheets and her partner, Laurie Jo Muschel of Berkeley. She was the dear sister of Rita Hyman and Gaspar Silvestri of New Orleans, LA who preceded her in death. She was the dear grandmother of Patrick, Melanie and Christopher and great-grandmother of Bradley, Sammy Jo and Jackelin and her furry friends Leo, Mia, Georgina and Puddin. She is also survived by her Godchild Roxanne Fiscella and her partner, Evelyn Oltman.A native of New Orleans, she was 77 years of age.She was a gracious, kind and generous spirit. Her sparkling heart was a gift to all who knew her. Jo loved family, friends, and great conversation. Her elegant style and gracious manner were accompanied by her twinkling eyes and her devilish smile. She will be greatly missed always. Friends are invited to call at 2812 Russell Street, Berkeley from 6:30pm to 10:oopm and attend Memorial Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 2808 Lakeshore Avenue, Oakland on Monday, February 24, 2003 at 4:00pm.The family encourages Memorial Contribution to the American Heart Association or to Bellakey Gardens at 2780 26th Avenue in Oakland.
