I really enjoyed getting to know Joe when he and my sister, Kerry, would come to visit us (the Gutierrez family) in Carson City. For Joe, their trip wouldnâ??t be complete without a visit to one of the local museums or taking a walking tour of Virginia City. My husband, Rick, and I were always happy to be the tour guides. I was especially excited to share my knowledge of Nevada history with Joe when Kerry told me that he was a history nut, like me. Very happy memories â?¦

I will miss his laugh. He was a good man. Joe would like me to bake cornbread with canned corn in it whenever I was staying with Linda at Aunt Susie's (recipe from the blue box).
