“smile on his face”
Joseph Guadarrama was born in Raton New Mexico to Josephine and Vicente Guadarrama on December the 7th 1940, (Pearl Harbor Day) He married Virginia Gonzalez the love of his life. They were blessed with one incredible and talented son, David Guadarrama.
Joseph was a graduate of Castlemont High School in Oakland, Ca The Lord called him to preach at the age of 22. He attended Golden Gate Theological Seminary. He was licensed and ordained at 1st Southern Spanish Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Juan Arambula.
Joseph had 3 other brothers, Henry and Vince who have since gone to be with the Lord and Jenarro who is now residing in Mexico. He is survived by his other two sisters Margaret Quintana and Lucy Toscano.
Joseph was a man full of grace, hope and laughter. He always had a quick wit and many jokes, that even made his own belly bounce. … he would even laugh at his own jokes. Some of the Joe’isms were “Hey Now” “Whaz Up” whatcha do-in, whatcha do-in” “You know what” or “Guess What” .. there were so many of them… maybe you can think of a few!
A week before Joseph’s passing, his doctor told him he was going home, Joseph raised his hands high in the air and said” Praise Jesus I’m finally going home”
Joseph went home to be with the Lord around 1:20 PM on Friday the 17th of October. He passed into eternity peacefully with a “smile on his face.” We rejoice that he is now in his heavenly body and we can truly say he is finally home.
On behalf of the family, his wife Virginia, Son David, Daughter in Law Nancy, Grandsons Joshua and Luis, we appreciate all of your love, prayers and support.. We praise the Lord that we will all be together again some day!
