Jose Llanes' Obituary
Our beloved husband,brother, father, and grandfather passed away on August 27, 2024, after a long battle
with leukemia. He leaves behind his wife Victoria Larriberot of 35 whirlwind years exploring the world.
He leaves behind his daughter Seoni and her children Owen and Nelle, and Vicky’s children, William, Babette, Debbie and their children Sofia, Julian, Giuliana, and Max. He leaves behind his siblings in his native Spain, Mila, Paco, Rosa and Magda, and their families. José was born in Santander, Spain on July 30 1940. He was resourceful and hardworking from a very early age. He emigrated to the U.S.in 1963, earned his doctorate at UC Berkeley, and was professor of Spanish and French for 38 years at College of
Marin and Cal State Hayward. José, we will miss your presence, loving kindness, intellect and, above all, your love.
