Jonathan “Bud” Warren
April 7, 1924-December 10, 2013
Bud was born in Santa Barbara California, the second of five boys born to James and Grace Warren.
After graduating from The U.S. Naval academy in 1947, Bud became a Lieutenant Commander in the Navy and served until 1953, as well as many years in the reserve. In 1959, Bud earned a PhD from The University of California at Berkeley. He later became a Research Psychologist at the Educational Testing Service where he did research on testing and higher education. He published numerous papers, and testified in Superior and District Courts as an expert witness on testing.
Love of family, great wit and a keen intelligence are all traits that Bud will be remembered for.
He is survived by his children, Carol Lucca, Kristi Warren and Eric Warren. He also leaves behind his brothers, Dave Warren, Jim Warren and Tom Warren, as well as many loving nieces and nephews. Bud was predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Marilyn, as well as his brother John Warren.
Bud died peacefully December 10th, 2013 after living for many years with Alzheimer’s disease and prostate cancer. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 on Saturday January 25th at The Chapel of the Chimes, 4499 Piedmont Ave. Oakland, CA 94611.
