John Peter Badarello's Obituary
Resident of Castro Valley At the age of 90, John Badarello passed away quietly at his home in Castro Valley, CA, with his family at his bedside. He is survived by his son Steven (Ginger), his son Gary (Pam), three grandsons: Jeffrey (Andrea), Joseph (Lindsay), Jason (Vanessa), one granddaughter Rachel Woolnough and husband Scott Willis. He is also survived by four great grandchildren: Maisie, Casey, Antonio and Finley, his sister Angela Arata as well as many nieces and nephews. John was born and raised in Oakland, CA where he raised his family and resided with his wife Enes until her death in 2006 and thereafter moved to Castro Valley. He is a veteran of World War II having served in the Merchant Marines and retired after working for 40 years as an Operating Engineer out of Oakland Local 3. He was very proud of his Italian heritage and was an honorary member of the Fratellanza Club. Baywood Court in Castro Valley was his home until his death where he has many friends, loved playing bingo, going on event trips and was generally involved in the daily life happenings at Baywood. John was loving to all his family and loved in return, a friend to many and will be greatly missed by all. A funeral mass will be held Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, 11:00 am at Transfiguration Church, 4000 East Castro Valley Boulevard, Castro Valley, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
