Jeremiah C. Collins III's Obituary
JEREMIAH "JERRY" COLLINS III OBITUARY
Jeremiah C. Collins, "Jerry," of Alameda California suddenly passed away on Friday, August 12, 2022 in Alameda, California.
Born in Kingston, NY on November 20, 1961, he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Eastern Connecticut State University in Willimantic, Connecticut.
In 1995 Jerry left home in Middletown, Connecticut, to join his three sisters, their husbands and five nephews in Alameda. While working in Collections at Providian Financial he met and married Kelly Garcia. They were blessed with two beautiful and talented daughters,
Alexandra and Samantha. Jerry made sure to encourage critical thinking, choice-based behavior and fair play in his daughters, qualities he revered in his beloved Red Sox and Boston Celtics. He hit a home run right out of the park as he proudly reached his goal - to prepare the girls to become kind independent adults.
Jerry worked in customer service most of his life. For the past five years he was the Accounts Receivable Manager at Water Damage Recovery (WDR), a job he thoroughly loved. His WDR family enjoyed his jovial personality and unique talent for collections. Jerry was everything Irish, his room a museum to our heritage and to Carlos Santana. His keen wit was legendary and never failed to keep us holding our sides with laughter. He had a quiet introspective side too. He would listen without judging then respond with great sensitivity.
Jerry was the heart and soul of our family, with a hug and a kiss " hello "and, "love you" good-bye. In true Irish tradition, he was "our Jerry" ever in our minds and hearts. He lives on in our memories, his silly selfies and dancing dogs as his way to greet the day.
Jerry is survived by his daughters Alexandra and Samantha Collins of Alameda; his former wife Kelly Collins of El Cerrito; his sister Geraldine Collins-Bride (Robert Bride) of Alameda; his sister Kathleen Collins (Ed) of Martinez, CA; his brother-in-law Haim (Sandy) Levi; his nephews Patrick Collins-Bride (Sara) of Alameda; Brendan Collins-Bride of Oakland; Rory Levi (Rachel) of Dublin, CA; Jamie Levi (fianc?e Robin); Ariel (fianc?e Jassmin); his great niece Naomi of Dublin, CA; his great nephews Omri of Dublin, CA and Jeshua of Alameda; and his many close friends from Connecticut and New Jersey and cousins in Boston and Rhode Island.
