Jeffery Duckett's Obituary
Jeffery Duckett Sr. was born November 9, 1956, to his dotting parents, John Wesley Duckett and Laura Lee Duckett, in San Francisco, CA. From the moment he was born he was immersed into church and knew God as his mother Laura Lee wouldn’t have it any other way. Growing up in a Baptist home you can best believe he spend most of his time in the pews. Church is where he used his God-given gifts of singing in the choir, playing guitar, and the drums. The Upper Room Baptist church under late Elder Burrell is where he received Christ as a young man. He received his education through the Oakland public school system and graduated from Castlemont.
Jeffery submerged himself into what he knew best, working and giving his best effort in the help of raising his kids. He spent most of his life driving company trucks and making deliveries. He worked for companies like YoungsMarket and was a member of IOWU Local 6 Union.
Jeffery believed living his life to the fullest and enjoyed many things. If he had a sound track for his life, it would be “Forever Young”. He enjoyed things like playing pool, riding his motorcycle, he was a member of a motorcycle club where he volunteered a lot of his time, “collecting” cars, he was known to hit the corner and show up in a Winnebago or limo just to drive around with the kids on the next adventure. He enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids, he was the best father and grandfather, and there was no such thing as a step-child, he claimed you as his own. He was a master chef you haven’t lived if you didn’t have an African-American egg roll or tamale. He was in his element being around friends and family.
On October 21, 2013, he married Ora Duckett. They have spent the last few years enjoying life together until his untimely death on October 3, 2017, the only way they could ever part.
Jeffery was proceeded in death by his parents John Wesley and Laura Lee Duckett, his brother, John Duckett Jr., and his daughter Marisa Duckett.
