Jean Wong's Obituary
Jean Wong, 96, of Oakland, California, beloved and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away on July 9th, 2019. She was born in Canton, China, on September 18th, 1922. Jean Wong graduated from the University of California at Berkeley and received a Bachelor of Arts in Oriental Languages. She married Charles Wong on June 19th, 1949. Jean was a homemaker, raised their 5 children and worked along side her husband at their business Central Foods. She had a passion for watching basketball and football, and gardening. She is survived by her husband of 70 years and their children: Gary Charles Wong/spouse Annie Liu, Pamela Wong Mah/spouse Marvin Mah, Roberta Jean Rosenstrauch/spouse David Rosenstrauch, Teresa Ann SooHoo/spouse Edward SooHoo, and Tina Alexandra Wong. Jean had eight grandchildren: Christina Jean Wong, Melissa Anne Wong, Richard Charles Wong, Michelle Diane Mah, Valerie Nicole Mah, Derek Lee Rosenstrauch, Daryl Nicholas Rosenstrauch and Grace SooHoo. Great grandchildren: Reagan and Quinn Rosenstrauch, and Lily Ann Brown. We miss her dearly. She will be forever in our hearts.
Funeral services will be held at 11am on July 15th at Chapel of the Chimes: 4499 Piedmont Ave. Oakland CA 94611.
