Janice Maoki's Obituary
Janice Yae Maoki (Maneki), 74, passed away on September 5, 2015. Janice was born in Honolulu, Hawaii where she spent her first 12 years. After a year in Brazil, the family relocated to Glendale, California. She attended the University of California at Berkeley and remained in the Bay Area after graduation. In 1973 Janice married Eloy M. Maoki and in 1976 they moved to Richmond, California where they lived until her passing. Janice was an educator in the Berkeley and Contra Costa county public schools for 43 years.
Janice survived her sister, Kay Ann, and son, Stephen, and she is survived by her husband, Eloy; daughters Andrea (Linh Nguyen, Sanae Thu, and Luc Ryu) and Karen; and siblings Carolyn Watanabe (Miiko and Greg) and Ted Maneki (Freya Maneki and Ken, Sandy, and David Ekimoto).
