Janet A. Sarkisian's Obituary
Janet Anahid Sarkisian Janet (aka Jan) Anahid Sarkisian died of complications of AMYLOIDOSIS on Saturday, May 18, 2013 in Oakland, CA. Jan was born in San Francisco on July 23, 1943 to Evelyn Sarkisian (nee Shamlian) and Sarkis Sarkisian, both deceased. Her parents were survivors of the Armenian Genocide in Turkey (1915-1923). Jan is also predeceased by her brother, Arthur Minas and her beloved cats, Gemma and Jasperina. She leaves behind her remaining siblings, Ellen Sarkisian Chesnut and Lucille Sarkisian; her nephews, Darryl Sarkis and Randy Sarkisian; her aunt Arlene Kazarian and many cousins. Jan owned a very successful hair salon in the Phelan Bldg. for many years. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.A celebration of Jan’s life will be held at 1:00pm at the Chapel of the Chimes, 4499 Piedmont Ave., Oakland, CA on Sunday, June 23.”. . .all the gleaming light gathers around her head.
