Jane Chow's Obituary
July 4, 1937 – June 10, 2019
Jane Chow, 84, of Oakland, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2019 in her home of over 40 years. Born in Hong Kong on July 4, 1934, she was the oldest of 8 brothers and sisters. She attended The Chinese University of Hong Kong and received a Diploma of Arts in 1962, and post-secondary Diploma of Arts from The United College of Hong Kong in 1963.
She married Sze Wai Chow in 1962 after meeting on the Star Ferry in Hong Kong. Together they immigrated to the United States in 1968. She loved education and earned her lifetime teaching credential for the State of California in 1978. She wanted to give back to the education system and became a public-school teacher in the Oakland Unified School District where she taught for over 20 years.
Jane is survived her sons, Charles & Lawrence (Jamie) Chow. She will be missed by all. She is now together again with her husband.
