James White Sr.'s Obituary
James AKA "WhiteOwl" was born on March 15 1950 to Thomas and Enice White in Foote, MS. He was the first child for the couple. He was two years old when they relocated to California. From an early age James accompanied his late Grandmother Lenora Edward to church at the Antioch MBC in Oakland CA. During those years he was still baptized.
James received his education through the Oakland public school systems. he graduated from Mcclymonds (Mack) High School. The school of champions. He was an athlete and played quarterback in his senior year. James also attended Merritt College.
James met and married Deborah Hayes and out of this union they had tow sons. Andrew (Peanut) and James Jr. (Lil James). The marriage ended but they remained lifelong friends.
He worked as a camp counselor for the Oakland Boys Club, later he became employed by Safeway stores and worked at their ice cream plant in Oakland CA. He continued to work there for 19 years. Later he started working for VIP Transportation.
James was preceded in death by his Grand Mother Lenora Edward, Mother Eunice White and Father Thomas White.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory: Two sons, Andrew and James Jr; four sisters Patricia (Carl) Jones of TX; Deborah White of Antioch;Twania White of ATL and Monica White STL. Seven brothers; Steven (Brenda) Porter of Antioch;Carl White of Los Angeles; Darryl Banks of Oakland; Emmanuel (Janet) White of Fairfield; Michael Sherrod of STL; Corey (Sharon) Sherrod of STL and Thomas (Zsavonda) White STL. Three grandchildren; Andrea (baby girl), James White III and Roshaunda Ransom. Five great grandchildren; Kemari Goodwin, Reign O'Neal, Naja White, Ja'naiyah Moore and Sir' Ryan Sonnier.
James is also survived by long time loving friend Josephine Proctor and her daughter Anita Proctor.
Three in laws Dorothy Galloway, Eric Hayes and Patricia Lowe. Lifelong friend more like a brother Bobby Wilkerson and friend Henry Celestine. Plus a host of Nieces, Nephews and cousins and other relatives and friends.
