James Lipnosky's Obituary
James William Lipnosky, 51, Auburn, California, died suddenly in his home on, Monday, January 4, 2016.
James was born March 9, 1964, in Oakland, California and was a longtime resident in El Cerrito, Berkeley, and Auburn. He worked for the family real estate business for many years, and was a well respected contract painter and was a perfectionist in the details of his work. James attended school at St. Mary Magdalen and attended and graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Berkeley where he was an honor student, a great athlete, and was an ace pitcher and star quarterback that had many professional scouts admiring his pitching talent.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Lipnosky, two brothers, Robert Lipnosky (Linda), and Harry Lipnosky (Barbara), four sisters, Betsy Rutana (Brian), Maryjo Lipnosky, Cathy Nason, and Chrissy Lipnosky, six nephews and four nieces and numerous cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by parents, Andrew and Mary Lipnosky, brother, Andy, Jr., and nephew Joey.
James was a loving and devoted husband. He was a very generous soul. He was a favorite uncle to his nieces and nephews. He made sure they had candy and soft drinks and they always looked forward to his frequent visits. He always made time to attend their school and sporting events and give them encouragement. He would take them out for batting practice and get them ready for their games with wiffle ball drills. Everyone around him loved his enthusiasm for life. He loved sports and you could always count on him to know the score of any game and he was known lovingly as “Jaimie the Greek” for his uncanny knowledge about sports odds. He never came to your home empty handed and was a hosts greatest guest – always on time, with something in hand, and always ready to help clean up and take out the trash.
He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
