James Arthur Lester was born 2/1/1932 – Departed this life Thursday 7/15/2004, after a long illness. A retired U.S. Marine, and long time resident of the Bay Area, he was loved by many. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 39 years Mary, 1 son, 2 daughters, 2 sisters, 3 brother-in-laws, 10 grands, 17 great grands, and many friends and relatives. A celebration of his life will be held at The Chapel of the Chimes 4499 Piedmont Ave. in Oakland.Viewing Wednesday 7/21/04, from 5 to 8pm. Services Thursday 7/ 22/ 04 @ 1:00pm.
