James "Frankie" Bowen's Obituary
James Frank Bowen Jr., 63, of Oakland, California, passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2025. Born on September 25, 1961, in Oakland, CA, Frank attended Oakland High School. Known for his light-hearted nature and ever-present smile, Frank had a gift for brightening the lives of those around him.
A die-hard Raiders fan, Frank's passion for the silver and black was matched only by his love for his family. Whether tailgating or watching from his favorite spot on the couch, his enthusiasm for the game was contagious.
Frank will be remembered for his ability to find joy in life's simple pleasures and his knack for making others laugh. His zest for life and love of a good time made him the life of every gathering, leaving lasting memories with all who knew him.
Frank was a family man, leaving behind a legacy of love. He is survived by his father James Sr., his children, Andre (Latisha), Sharla (Tim), Shannon, James III, Julio, 11 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and a host of relatives and close friends. Frank was predeceased by his mother Thelma, and both sets of grandparents. His family was the center of his life, and he enjoyed the moments spent with them.
Frank's warmth, humor, and love will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on through the many smiles he spread. Just as he would have wanted, we will remember him with laughter, love, and perhaps a Raiders cheer or two.
