Jaleel Lamar Harris' Obituary
Our dearest, Jaleel Lamar Harris was born on January 21, 2003 to parents Julious Scott Sr. and Freda Harris, the youngest child of both parents. He lived in both East and North Oakland before settling in West Oakland with his father and Elizebeth Lewis. Lastly, residing with his beloved Godmother and guardian Renita Joseph.
A gifted child, Jaleel was often offered the opportunity to skip grades. After receiving impressive test scores throughout elementary school, he was recruited to attend Edna Brewer Middle School. Ultimately, at age 17 and a half, Jaleel was ahead of schedule, needing only 4 classes, to graduate on time with his class in June of 2021.
Jaleel's interest include music, cinematography and fashion design. Although very quiet and reserved when first met, once he'd get to know you, his wonderful sense of humor and infectious smile were undeniable.
He is survived by his parents, Julious Scott Sr. and Freda Harris, his godmother, Renita Joseph, brothers; Julious Scott Jr., Desmond Scott and Jeffery Anderson, sisters; Katie Medina, Tiana Scott, Charlene Saunders and Tatianna Mcdougle and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many more loved ones
