Jake Petersen Walter's Obituary
Jake Petersen Walter, 30, of Oakland, passed away August 17th, 2017. Born in Oakland on July 7th, 1987, Jake graduated from Skyline High School in 2006 before going on to get his degree in kinesiology from Cal State East Bay. Jake’s biggest passions were baseball, which he played all his life, barbecuing, spending time with friends and family, and his dream of becoming an Oakland firefighter, which he achieved in April of 2017. Prior to graduating from the fire academy, Jake also worked as an EMT and a paramedic, along with volunteering in his community with organizations such as Random Acts. Bringing light to all of us with his smile, his friendship and his life, Jake was survived by his parents Jerry and Kate and his sister Samantha.
A memorial service for Jake Petersen Walter will be held on Saturday, August 26th, 2017 at 11am at the Scottish Rite Center, 1547 Lakeside Dr, Oakland, CA 94612.
