Jacqueline Stuart's Obituary
Jacqueline "Jackie" Stuart was born in Oakland, California on December 17, 1953 to James and Marcelle Rosemon. She was the youngest of four children.
She graduated from Berkeley High School in 1971, where she met her husband, Joel Stuart. She later attended classes at the College of Alameda. She built a life rooted in service, resilience, and deep love for her community and family.
She had a diverse and accomplished career, including working for The Mike Douglas Show, as an aspiring actress. She found her love for the medical field while working at Alta Bates, before working as a Communications Coordinator for Nextel/Sprint. After retirement, Jackie continued her life of service by fostering youth and young adults, who became her extended family.
Jackie was known for her vibrant personality-she was witty, full of humor, and had a gift for making others laugh. She had a presence that could light up any room.
Her faith was an important part of her life. She faithfully served at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Oakland until moving to Bay Point where she served as a Steward at First AME Bay Point where her nephew Rev. Michael Permillion Sr., pastored. She later attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Pittsburg, and New Beginnings in Vallejo.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Kelli Patterson (Deon Hodge) and Leanna (Jason) Augustus; her beloved grandchildren, Christian and Deon III; her nephew, Michael Permillion Sr. and great-nephew Michael Permillion II, along with a host of extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Marcelle Rosemon;
her siblings, Causandra Rosemon, Carl Francis Rosemon, and Betty Shaw; her nephew, Marcus Shaw; and her great-nephew, Aaron Permillion.
