Hugh Joseph McGee's Obituary
Hugh J. McGee, Jr. passed away on July 13, 2004 after a long illness. A native of Oakland, aged 74 years. He is survived by his beloved wife Marian; devoted father to Kevin, James, and Mark; dear brother to Kay Thomas, Jack McGee, and Margie Daly. Retired from the United States Marine Corps. A veteran of the Korean War. He was proud to be an American. He was an outstanding basketball player during his teen years. He loved Cal Bears football and San Francisco Giants baseball. He was a friend to everyone he met. He had a great smile and always had a sparkle in his eye.Family and friends are invited to attend a rosary on Monday, July 19 at 7:30 p.m. (visitation hours – 5:30 to 7:30) at the Chapel of the Chimes, 4499 Piedmont Ave., Oakland. Funeral services: Mass on Tuesday, July 20 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 400 Alcatraz Ave., Oakland, followed by internment at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
