Howard Wong's Obituary
Howard Wong was born on Monday, April 16, 1934, in the town of Shaxi in the Guangdong province of China. Howard was born to his father Quan Lin Joe as the fifth child of six. At the age of 16, Howard immigrated to Oakland, California, where he called home for over 70 years. In 1954, Howard joined the U.S. Army’s 6th Infantry Company, where he served for two years. On December 12, 1957, he married the love of his life, Clara, with whom he had and raised five loving children. Howard departed this life on Thursday, June 26, 2025. He is survived by his wife Clara Wong; his five children Clarice Wong-Morrison, Rickey Wong, Antoinette Mar, Virgette Dumaguin, and Leola Lin; his eleven grandchildren Nicole Morrison-Fountain, Christopher Mar, Jessica Mar, Jazmine Wong, Gabi Dumaguin, Sydney Wong, Randi Wong, Paige Dumaguin, Tatum Wong, Justin Lin, and Jonathan Lin; his two great-grandchildren Felix Fountain, Ian Mar, and a third on the way; and a host of other relatives and friends.
