Howard Waihong Lee's Obituary
Howard was born on July 2, 1957, the son of Mei Yit and the late Siu on Lee, in China. He migrated to the United States at the age of 12 and was a resident of Oakland ever since. He married his wife, Maybel, in June 1980 and together they owned and operated, On Luck Food To Go. They worked side by side for over 25 years, offering exceptional Chinese dishes, defined by customers as the ultimate comfort food and enjoyed by all. Howard was known for loving everything about Oakland, especially the Raiders and the A’s. Howard was a tremendous athlete who wrestled in high school and loved to run Lake Merritt with his fellow avid runners.
He is survived by his wife, Maybel, his son, Calvin, and his daughter, Christine Erica.
A memorial service will be held at Chapel of the Chimes in Oakland, CA, on Sunday, April 12, 2015 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM.
