HOPE H. LERVOLD's Obituary
LERVOLD, HOPE age 89 passed peacefully on August 18, 2004. She was born February 24, 1915 in Sarles, ND to Franklin and Ella Hinegardner. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Elmer in 1982. She is survived by her loving family: her daughter, Elma and son-in-law, Dale; her son, Joe and daughter-in law, Jill; her grandchildren; David and his wife Annabel, Dana, Dale Mathew, Jason and Jonathan; and great-grandsons Dale Andrew and Jan.In 1941 Hope and Elmer came to California and settled in Oakland. Hope contributed to the was effort by working at the Oakland Army Base during WWII. A working mother, she also found time to volunteer for various organizations. She was very active in the affairs of her Church, teaching Sunday School and serving on numerous committees. She took great pride in serving as Co-chair of the Building Committee for the construction of Lake Merritt United Methodist Church after the First United Methodist Church at 24th and Broadway was destroyed by fire. At her request, there will be no funeral service. A memorial celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
