Hope Mary Andrews' Obituary
Hope Mary Andrews, 93, of San Lorenzo, California, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 8, 2020. Born April 22, 1927, in Oakland, California, she was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel Andrews and her son, Peter J. Lueras. She is survived by her daughter Stella Marasco (Lueras), son-in-law, John, granddaughter, Amara Hope, niece, Connie Zane, nephew, John Villa, many in-laws, grandnieces, grandnephews, and friends.
Anybody who had the fortune of knowing Hope, knew she was a woman of incredible independence, always giving from the heart, and had a kind soul. She felt happiest when doing something for someone else. Hope was extremely disciplined. When she was still living in her home, she completed her exercise routines three times a day and saying the rosary up to seven times a day. She had a different rosary for each person. Hope still found time to take care of her daily business and go out to lunch each day!
She displayed perseverance in all she did. When she had a stroke at 50, she was diligent with her physical therapy exercises, and continued with them after each session was completed. At her job at a meat\snack factory, in 25 years, she never missed one day of work. Even though Hope never drove a car, she reached every destination she sought out, and then some!
Hope spent her last four years at an assisted-living home in Hayward, where she felt safe, comfortable and at home, as her caregiver and the other 5 clients welcomed and embraced her.
She was a loving mother, and was deeply loved as well.
Due to COVID-19, services will be private. For the year's anniversary of Hope's passing, a mass will be said and her life's celebration will be held.
