Big Uncle was always so sweet, everyone loves him. I would look forward to his Hong Shao Rou (braised pork belly) every New Years. I still remember going to his Hayward restaurant for special occasions during a lot of my childhood. It was where the family got together for Christmas and birthdays, and the first time I learned what loving through food looks like. I worked a summer job at Lin Jia during my last year in high school, and uncle was always feeding me and looking out for me. He greeted everyone with a smile, and was the backbone who was there when anyone needed him. We miss you Uncle, rest in peace. <3 Love, Kelly
