Hisako June Kuge's Obituary
Hisako Kuroiwa was born on June 20, 1923 in Stockton, CA to her father Hisakichi Kuroiwa and mother, Sekiyo, Kuroiwa. Hisako (June) was the youngest in the family which included siblings Harumi, Haruki, Hideko. She graduated from Berkeley High School and Armstrong Business College before her family was evacuated to Tanforan Race Track and later Topaz “Relocation” Camp. She married Tadashi T. Hirota in camp and raised three children, Patty, David and Sherry in Berkeley, CA. In 1978, June married Donald Masayoshi Kuge. She is survived by daughters Patty Hirota-Cohen, Sherry Hirota; son, David Hirota; step daughter, Pamela Kumimoto; grandchildren, Jackson Valparaiso, Takeo Wong, Josef Anolin, Jennifer Anolin, Rachel Hirota, Kelsey Hirota, Mark Kumimoto, Kevin Kumimoto; and great-grandchildren, Victor Valparaiso and Marley Valparaiso. Private funeral services for family and close friends will be held on May 6, 2018 at 2 pm at the Buddhist Church of Oakland, 825 Jackson Street, Oakland, CA 94607.
