Hilda M. Vezerian's Obituary
Hilda peacefully passed away on July 29, 2009. Hilda was born to Gordon and Ella (Parkhurst) Reynolds on July 27, 1920 in Westford, VT. After graduating from Milton High School, she received her nursing training at Montpelier, VT and later transferred to Boston General Hospital for her RN degree. While there, she met and later married Simon Vezerian on October 13, 1942 and moved to Oakland, CA the following year. They had four children and enjoyed 43 years of marriage before Simon's death in 1985. She was devoted to her family and friends and was devotedly active in the Bayview Fellowship Church of the Nazarene. She also attended the Castro Valley's Church of the Nazarene. Hilda was preceded in death by her beloved parents, four siblings (Gerald, Carolyn, Stanley and Daurice), her son Gordon Simon Vezerian and by her long-time companion Gil Thompson. She is survived by her loving children: Zano Vezerian of Torrance; Zarohee (Joe) Attinello of Pleasanton, and Virginia Mary (Rich) Teilh of Minden, NV and also by Linda Pool, her loving daughter-in-law.Her greatest pride and joy are her nine grandchildren: Kimberly, Troy, Kelli, Steven, Michelle, Nicole, Christine, Ricky, and Brian. She behind her beloved 15 great-grandchildren and a great-great granddaughter. She also leaves behind many loving nephews, nieces and close family friends.Hilda enjoyed canning fruit and vegetables and loved reading, listening to gospel music, crocheting, and sending weekly handwritten letters to family and friends. She never met a stranger and was loved by all. Visitation will be held on August 6 from 5 to 8 pm and funeral services will be held on August 7 at 11:00 am at the Chapel of the Chimes, 4499 Piedmont Avenue, Oakland. In lieu of flowers, please send a memorial contribution in Hilda's name to Bayview Fellowship Church of the Nazarene located at 4500 Redwood Road, Oakland, CA 94619.
