Hideaki Dick Nakano's Obituary
Hideaki Dick Nakano was born on March 22, 1935 in Alameda, California to Kazuo and Etsuko Nakano. His sister, Grace, was born six years later. He attended Highland Elementary, Elmhurst Jr. High and Castlemont High School, all in Oakland. After graduating, he attended Armstrong Business College.
He was a good son, helping to take care of his parents until their passing: Kazuo in 1991 and Etsuko in 1992. After the family home was sold in 1995, Dick lived in a Variety of places including Cherry Blossom Assisted Living in San Leandro, Waters Edge Lodge Assisted Living in Alameda and Cypress House in Hayward. He also lived for a time with Grace from 1996-2000. His last place of residence was Windsor Estates in Hayward where he passed away on November 4, 2013.
Dick enjoyed radio talk shows, watching TV, reading various newspapers including the Wall Street Journal. He liked to bowl and was a big fan of the Oakland A’s and the Raiders. He was also a good Poker and Black Jack player.
His quiet, kind and gentle spirit will be missed.
