Henry J. Maldonado's Obituary
We are sad to announce that Henry Maldonado, 79, passed away on the morning of June 24th in San Leandro, CA.
Henry was born on June 16th, 1944, in Oakland, CA to Lucy and Henry Sr. He was a graduate of Oakland Technical High School. Henry proudly served in the US Marine Corps as a Sergeant who served duty in the Pacific during the Vietnam War aboard the USS Enterprise. After leaving the military, he worked for American National Can as a machinist for 30 years before retiring. To keep busy during retirement; he occasionally worked part time security jobs around the Bay Area.
Henry loved time with his family. He was a devoted husband, Dad and Papa. He will always be known for his kind heart and natural ability to make people feel welcomed and comfortable in his presence. He liked a good joke and to tease in good fun. The things he enjoyed were music, especially Doo Wop, dancing socializing, traveling, watching all types of sports, going to the movies, concerts, car shows, and using his tool collection to fix and create things.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Connie Maldonado, his two daughters, Christine LaRock and Tiffany Myers, his son-in-law, Jason Myers, step-son, Paul Mora, granddaughters Justine, Daisha and Cassie. Along with a sister, brother, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was loved by all and will be missed tremendously.
A funeral service will be held in his honor at Noon, on July 21st at Chapel of the Chimes in Oakland, CA.
