Helen Callaghan Sheward's Obituary
Helen passed away peacefully at the age of 94 in the Oakland home she loved. Preceded in death by her husband Harry, she is survived by her children Gordon and Christina, granddaughters Amy Sheward and Anzelle Scrimshaw, and great granddaughter Lasya Fiuty. A native of Philadelphia, she settled in the Bay Area with her family in 1954. A proud member of the Society of Mayflower Descendants, she enjoyed traveling, reading, family genealogy, visiting friends and being with family. She received her Masters of Library (MLIS) degree from San Jose State University in 1973. She loved her work as Medical Librarian at Kaiser Oakland from 1976 to 1987. Our special thanks to her caregivers Maureen, Katie, Bridgette and Cobee, and to Kaiser Hospice for their wonderful care. Memorial Service will be held at 10 am, Friday, January 30, 2015 in the Chimes Chapel at Chapel of the Chimes, 4499 Piedmont Avenue, Oakland, CA 94611.
