Helen Patrice Dang Woo's Obituary
Helen Patrice Leong was born on June 28, 1926 in San Francisco where she grew up with her brothers Fred, Phil, and George, and her sisters, Terry, Mary, and Mabel. Helen graduated from Galileo High School in 1944, earned an A.A. degree in Business from San Francisco City College, and then entered secretarial and office work. In 1950, she married Walter Wai Dang. Walt, a dentist, brought her to Germany when the U.S. army stationed him there. Their first child, Susan Gail, was born there in 1952. Residing in Hayward and then Fremont, they had three more children: Curtis in 1955, Julie in 1960, and Mark in 1965. After the passing of Walter in 1971, Helen supported her family through investing, but continued to consider her primary function to be a loving mother. In 1987, Helen married George Woo, a retired civil engineer for the city of San Francisco. They enjoyed worldwide travel and Woo association and Cal Alumni activities. God blessed Helen with a seven grandchildren, whom she considered her greatest joy: Matthew, Lisa, David, Angela, Alex, Samantha, and Steven. George Woo passed on ahead of Helen on Friday, September 11. On earth Helen did not want others to worry about her, and in Heaven, she wants you to know that she is joyfully in the presence of God. Her nature was to be concerned about others, so she hopes you will know the Lord Jesus Christ and join her some day to be with Him.Memorial contributions may be sent to:Bay Area Chinese Bible Church 750 Fargo Avenue San Leandro, CA 94579-2104 ORFremont Asian Christian ChurchP.O.
