Harry Wolfgang Weisse's Obituary
Harry was born in Halle Salle East Germany and escaped past border guards in to West Germany with his mother and brothers. Through the World Counsel of Churches they immigrated to the United States in 1957 and Harry was drafted in the Army at the end of the Korean conflict. He received his citizenship in 1963 and followed with his mother Margaret Richter Weisse his 2 brothers and their family’s to California in 1965. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Judith Ann Mann Weisse, his brothers Wolfgang Klaus Weisse and Jochen Christian Weisse, and his nephews David Weisse, Christian Weisse, Peter Weisse and Tina Sylvester. Harry loved people and animals. He thrived in the service industry. He was a wonderful cook specializing in soups and German cuisine. He was also a Horticulturist. A man with a green thumb. After working for Montgomery Wards for 10 years he finally achieved is dreams of owing his own business and doing it his way. He had a 24 Hour Fast Food business on the Corner of Powell and Ellis with employees speaking German, French, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese and English. He ran the German Club in San Jose Lunch and Dinner all week and Saturday night Dances. Rather then retire he started a Plant Care Business (Ornamental Horticulture) that still exists today after 25 years. His clients were American President Lines, 24 Hour fitness (Northern California), Mechanics Bank, Triple AAA, Insurance Companies and numerous restaurants and property management locations. His employees loved him and learned from him. His customers loved him and their employees knew him as a friend, he brought a happiness and joy to all he met by his smile and kindness and loving nature. He will be missed.
