He was born in Oakland, California to the late Harold and Adeline Anderson and was also preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Lawrence of Sacramento. He lived in the Sacramento area until 2005 to move in with his daughter, Nancy, and son-in-law, Chuck, until his passing. Harold will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Harold was a very loving, gentle, kind, wonderful man and the cherished father to four daughters; Nancy Parmeley (Chuck) of Hayward, Bonnie Anderson (Katy Brady) of Hayward, Elisabeth Anderson of Somerset and Yvonne Rivero of El Dorado Hills. He was also a devoted Grandfather to 6, Great Grandfather to 5, Son, Brother, Uncle, cousin, and friend to many. He lived his life with great integrity and compassion for others. Harold was a graduate of Fremont High School in 1942, joined the Army and went on to work for The Army Corp of Engineers in San Francisco and Sacramento for 30 years, retiring at the age of 55. Throughout his life he designed and built numerous well-crafted wooden items, from pens and pencils to Murphy beds. Also, during his early retirement years he enjoyed fishing three times a week, continued to hunt, replaced a roof on his barn when he was in his 70’s, and fished again into his mid 80’s! For the past few years, his entertainment was his family, watching sports, old time TV, and game shows on his big screen TV. We (Bonnie, Elisabeth and Yvonne) want to acknowledge the wonderful care and attention he received from Nancy and Chuck, and his caregiver, Algerae, as they were instrumental in extending and adding to his quality of life over the past 6 years. THANKS FOR ALL YOU DID FOR US, DAD YOU WILL ALWAYS BE LOVED, MISSED, AND NEVER FORGOTTEN. A memorial service and celebration of his life will be held on August 27th, 2012 at 1:00pm at Chapel of the Chimes, 4499 Piedmont Avenue, Oakland followed by a gathering for family and friends at 28969 Guilford Court, Hayward
